This translates to a staggering 22,000 tonnes of waste produced daily, with each of the country's 50 million citizens contributing half a kilogram of waste daily. They include three key areas that include ecosystem restoration, climate change adaptation and mitigation, as well as circular economy initiatives. Festus K. Ng’eno, Principal Secretary of the State Department of Environment and Climate Change, noted the importance of circular economy practices during the launch of the second edition of the Loop Forum Kenya, hosted by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM).
