Watu wenye silaha waliivamia hoteli moja katika mji wa Baladweyne katikati mwa Somalia leo Jumanne ambako wazee wa eneo hilo pamoja na maafisa wa serikali walikuwa wanakutana na kuzingirwa kunaendelea, mashahidi na jamaa waliliambia shirika la habari la Reuters.
Kundi la Al Shabaab limedai kuhusika na shambulio hilo katika taarifa yake na lilisema limewaua zaidi ya watu 10.
Dahir Amin Jesow, mbunge wa jimbo la Baladweyne, alisema hadi sasa kiasi cha watu wanne waliuawa lakini tunaendelea kuhesabu idadi ya vifo. Kundi la wanamgambo wa Kiislamu la Al Shabaab limedai kuhusika na shambulio hilo katika taarifa yake na lilisema limewaua zaidi ya watu 10.
Al-Shabaab mara kwa mara wanafanya mashambulizi ya mabomu na bunduki katika taifa hilo tete katika Pembe ya Afrika wakati likijaribu kuiangusha serikali na kuanzisha utawala wake kwa kuzingatia tafsiri yake kali ya sheria ya Kiislamu ya Sharia.
"Kwanza tulisikia mlipuko mkubwa uliofuatiwa na milio ya risasi, kisha mlipuko mwingine ukasikika" alisema Ali Suleiman mfanyabiashara wa duka ambaye alishuhudia shambulio hilo.
