The President called on demonstrators to uphold the rule of the law, warning that violent protests risk destabilising the nation. His calls for peaceful protests were backed by ODM Leader Raila Odinga, who urged protestors to exercise restraint, calling for the enactment of laws to ensure peaceful protests.
