In Somalia, 11% of the population lives with disabilities. The country recently passed its first disability rights law, but challenges remain, including stigma, unemployment, and lack of infrastructure. The BBC followed the journeys of Mohamed Abdisalam, who lost his sight at 14 due to Somalia’s healthcare collapse, and Hafsa Mohamed, a young woman in a wheelchair after a war injury in Mogadishu.
